What real dangers should I be aware of?

There is one rule of thumb that should never be ignored: plan for the worst and hope for the best. Every form of off-road driving is inherently dangerous. Consciously working to reduce and make your risks more predictable greatly lowers the chance of unexpected situations. But this is not a guarantee.

During the race, the route often leads through unknown terrain, with changing ground conditions and varying weather. Mechanical and technical difficulties, as well as navigation problems, can and will occur. Traffic regulations apply along the entire route.

Each participant is responsible for their own health and that of others. Situations must be kept under control at all times. The thrill of competition must never lead to irresponsible behaviour. This is not a closed circuit.

The distance can be up to 150 km. In addition to dirt, agricultural, side or field roads, the route may also cross railway lines or main roads. There will be “civilians” on the route as well, travelling by car, bicycle or on horseback.

Driving must always be thoughtful and controlled. It is essential to be ready at all times to keep every moment under control.

Who bears responsibility?

The SXS Trophy event may only and exclusively be attended at each individual’s own risk!
Danger is present whether participating as a competitor or simply as a visitor. All regulations and rules must be followed, as they have been created to prevent accidents. Despite every effort, situations or events may occur that have consequences. It must be understood that SXS Trophy does not assume responsibility for anyone’s consequences. These must be borne personally, regardless of their extent. By entering the race and submitting the registration, the Liability and Competition Regulations must be accepted and considered binding.

When should I arrive at the competition venue?

The experience shows that there is already a vibrant buzz on the evening before the race. It is worth arriving the day before so there is enough time to set up the camp, position the trailer, and complete the technical inspection. Meeting the other competitors is always an uplifting feeling. It is worth taking the time for this. It truly serves everyone’s best interest.

What does machine acceptance mean?

Checking the minimum required technical and mechanical standards for the vehicles participating in the competition. This includes the registration certificate, license plate, insurance, safety net, neck brace, brakes, seat belts, tires, seats, and the presence and condition of fire extinguishers and first aid equipment. Any vehicle that does not meet these requirements is not allowed to start. These regulations must be taken seriously, as they are there to provide protection.

What should you do in case of a technical failure during a race?

If any unusual sound, event or situation is detected in connection with the vehicle, pull over. Stop the race. If the vehicle is capable of leaving the designated route, reach the asphalt road by the shortest possible way. If technical recovery is needed, call the race organizers. Identify the location, and the rescue team will arrive. No one is ever left stranded at the roadside. Transport to the camp will be provided and repairs can begin.

What happens if I am unable to complete the race distance?

Semmi komoly dolog! Ha műszaki mentést kértél, ékezik a segítség. Az aznapi eredményedet törlik a versenybírók. Javítasz, szerelsz és eldöntöd, hogy indul-e a másnapi futamon.

What happens between the two race days?

The vehicle is being prepared for the next day’s challenge. There is time to rest, make friends, and enjoy the atmosphere of the SXS Trophy. There is food, drinks, and plenty of laughter. Life is to be enjoyed.
